Are you hyped for this upcoming PS4 exclusive game? I can tell you I can’t wait for the game to publicly release and I am sure it will notice an impressive success. Horizon Zero Dawn takes place in the far future, about 1000 years from now, where tribes lead primitive beings, packed with high tech stuff. In the begging, is not really clear how the world got to this stage, but a young girl who goes by Aloy, is the only one able to unlock all these mysteries. Aloy is making use of various tech gadgets during her journey and as far as I can tell, you will be amazed through how many stages this young warrior is going through while playing the game.
To ensure you don’t get bored easily while playing, Zero Dawn will throw at you more advanced robotic foes as you progress through the game which will really challenge your fighting skills. You will slowly start versing from horses and bulls to crocodiles wearing armor and guns, as well as huge crabs with cloaking capabilities. At some point in game you will be controlling a robotic T-Rex which is absolutely insane! Not to mention that due to your tiny appearance, your enemies will not see that coming.
To succeed as a hunter in Zero Dawn, you will be required to not only be a good hunter with amazing hunting skills, but you will need lots of knowledge to understand what your enemies can do and what parts of their body are vulnerable. Just a few good shots on some weak parts and your enemy is dead. You can also disarm your foes and use their own weapons to fight back, however your weapons are enough to deal great share of damage. The effects though are absolutely incredible when breaking that huge laser canon and start slaying everything.
As you expect in most games nowadays, there is a map you can check at any given time which is mainly wild but there are some tribal places which are fairly easy to locate. Here you will find a lot of NPCs offering you quests and rewards, as well as items to purchase. The side quests in this game are not really worth doing in my honest opinion. They won’t give you any great reward and are not very fun. But if you like to squeeze that extra time of gameplay and 100% the game, then it is worth doing them. Don’t get disappointed as the main story of the game is ridiculous.
There is a crafting system in place allowing Aloy to craft her traps and ammunition, make health potions to recover health and upgrade item storage. Don’t need to get too much into the subject as the crafting system is very simple and anyone who has played a game before will be just fine. What I don’t like about the inventory system is that you can’t sort items and it is going to take you a while to look for things you want to sell or drop. There are about 100 slots to scroll through and read descriptions for each of one in order to decide what you want to keep and what not. For a triple X title in 2017 this is a huge letdown to be honest with you.
There are plenty of artifacts you can search for in the wild, but I didn’t find this worthwhile. Just like the side quests, these are not very powerful or a game changer. Another cool feature of Zero Dawn is the ability to hack robots which will fight by your side through your journey. You need to search for some weird looking buildings, something more like alien looking. These have some kind of machinery which is going to allow hacking various breeds of robots.
As with most games, there can be some negatives aspects of Horizon Zero Dawn but overall, Guerrilla Games did a wonderful job with this game. Let’s not overlook the fact that this is their first third-person action game offering a free world roam. You can tell the amount of effort and time that has been put into this game and I am sure people will play and enjoy every moment. For now there are not any know Horizon Zero Dawn cheats or hacks, but I am sure soon there will be all type of guides and tips to help you through the game.
